I got this app in one of its free periods, and I cant believe that this usually almost three bucks app only offers a total of 15 filters. Theyre nice and unique "old-timey" looks, but none of the much-lauded film effects are included. You have to buy each of 9 different film/camera type effects in extra paid packages. Its pretty hard not to crave those, but that gets pitted against the anger you feel that the description deliberately misled you. Im just glad I didnt pay money to feel so tempted and cheated. Another reviewer commented that these look like the "old-time pictures looked 40 years ago." Well, that would have been the mid-1970s, and having grown up then I can tell you that these effects would show in the 70s how pictures had looked 40 years before THAT. Crystal clear photos like we have today were the norm for professional photographers in the 70s. The only effects directly from the 70s are Kodachrome (honored in a #1 song by Paul Simon and which, incidentally, is no longer made), Instamatic (popular home cameras and film cartridges) and the instant developing film of the Polaroid. But the "old-time" pictures with the slightly blurred and faded looks come from the first half of the 20th century. I asked the developer a question about why I didnt get the free pack offered in-app just for writing a review, and their response was a form letter telling how to restore the purchase. When that didnt work I wrote back and they wrote back, "The past never saw this". So Im dealing with someone using a Japanese-English translator to tell me that it had never happened before. Despite another email I sent to get the package I was cheated out of, they never responded to me again. I cant imagine having paid for this considering the almost nothing it provides - unless you make multiple in-app purchases which can cost you a lot of money. Dont PAY for this unless you like feeling cheated. You can get all sorts of great filters in other apps which dont charge you anything to get what is essentially an ad to get you to buy more filters.
